Founding Partner, Creative
Darrell Long has been a designer for over 25 years. He is a founding partner at Campbell House and will oversee the creative direction of the firm’s U.S. and EMEA design studios. Darrell spent the first ten years of his professional practice working for himself, learning a great deal by way of his mistakes and misjudgments. Darrell then spent nearly eight years at HBA (Hirsch Bedner Associates), to which he became a Partner and Design Director after just two years. There he says he learned that large ships need enormous rudders to evoke any change of course, no matter how needed, smart or stupid the idea might be. In November 2019, Beth Campbell (then CEO of Wilson Associates), swooned Darrell away from his lethargically cushy HBA Partner position with the words "I don't want to be the biggest, I want to be the best." He joined her and an incredible team of talent at Wilson Associates. He learned it did not matter how conclusive, direct or creative one might be... and Beth and her leadership team were perfectly just that. After a brief year, both Beth and Darrell decided it was time to create something different… time to create Campbell House. He joins Beth and her merry band of creatives at Campbell House as Founding Partner-Creative. He learned that the intensely intelligent tenants they both discussed ad-nauseum are now creatively embraced, lovingly preached and diligently practiced. It is the most beautiful culmination of everything they all have learned....and the statement about wanting to be the best is now realistically his mantra, and it is irrepressibly attainable.
